"We are committed to keeping our heritage and tradition of agriculture in Skagit Valley alive for all to enjoy."- Jim Perkins

Company History
The Perkins family moved to Washington State in 1968. Tom retired from the army and settled here to pursue his passion for hunting and fishing. He bought a 20 acre farm and raised dairy cattle on it for several years prior to his growing interest in raising and grafting fruit trees. In 1972 he took 5 acres of the farm and the family planted one of the first commercial orchards in Western Washington. As the trees and the business grew, so did the acreage. Soon the cattle were gone and the orchard remained.
Company Today
Perkins Variety Apples is a family farm growing over 50 varities of apples.  Tom and Jim Perkins pride themselves on producing tree ripened fruit of the highest quality. Over the span of 35 years that the family has harvested fruit, the orchard has evolved into a modern, trellised, high density fruit farm. The Perkins are stewards of the land keeping their sprays as close to organic as possible, using their water supply wisely through drip irrigation while practicing mulching and pruning.  Left over apples and grass clippings are used to feed and rejuvenate their trees. Today the family farm has grown to over 45 acres of apples, pears and grapes.
